Modules

The course consists of two compulsory modules: Supporting and Assessing Students in Higher Education Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

Assessment method

You’ll teach an average of at least six hours each week, they are normally taught in two one-week blocks. Assessment is through a teaching portfolio, which provides evidence that you have met the learning outcomes for two modules. The portfolio combines the assessment for both modules and includes: a reflective commentary, relevant, supplementary documentary evidence and a record of four teaching observations. Students gain Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) after successfully completion. A number of assessment methods may be used on the course including: assignments; essays; evaluative reports; mini projects; reflective commentaries/discussions and written seminar papers. Your module specification/course handbook will provide full details of the assessment criteria applying to your course. Feedback (usually written) is normally provided on all assessment submissions within three term time weeks – unless the submission was made towards the end of the session in which case feedback would be available on request after the formal publication of results.
