This BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computing brings together subjects from mathematics, statistics, and computing to address the current and future main challenges faced in business, society, engineering, and science. The course has been designed to be accredited by relevant professional bodies in computing and mathematics (Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications and British Computer Society), to meet employers’ expectations for professional standards in the fields of mathematics, statistics, and computing. A unique feature of this degree is the balance between theory and applications, allowing you to develop a deep understanding of mathematical and statistical tools whilst, at the same time, being able to translate these into concrete computer-based solutions. With our society being increasingly driven by data, the job market is in huge demand of professionals with strong numerical and programming skills. Our BSc (Hons) degree in Mathematics and Computing aims to produce undergraduates encompassing many of the skills that are in increasing demand in a job market and society driven by data. Throughout your studies, you will be introduced to mathematical, statistical, and computing techniques that form the basis of many tools used in industry, engineering, business, and education. In particular, you will have finely-tuned skills in using information and data as an integral part of problem-solving and decision-making. More specifically, the BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computing course will enable you to:

- be highly numerate and able to use this in applications in computing and numerical modelling
