Course summary
Situated at the heart of a World Heritage Site, this MA lets you study the History, Literature, and Theology of the period roughly c. 1066-1800, or from the Norman Conquest to the the Age of Revolutions. You'll be able to choose from a range of modules taught by the leading experts in their field, design your own short courses, receive training in research skills, run your own reading group together with classmates, undertake graduate work placements, and complete a Masters dissertation. This MA is excellent preparation for your future in graduate-level employment, or for further study at the PhD level. You'll join a vibrant and supportive postgraduate community, where you can participate in and present at workshops, seminars, and conferences. Assessment method
Assessment is mainly by a range of written coursework including essays and a 15,000-word dissertation. There are some exams for certain modules, e.g. Latin.
Entry requirements
A 2:2 honours degree in History or a relevant discipline is required. Holders of other qualifications will be considered individually. International students whose first language is not English require an IELTS overall score of 6 with a 6 in reading and writing. International students can also be accepted if they have completed an English-medium degree with a significant research element. ent.
