Course summary

Learn strategic management within a global context. You’ll develop a deep understanding of cross-border investments and international business. This is a specialist course, designed for graduates who want to work in multinational companies or manage in an international context. This is also a practical course. By applying the latest theory to real-world issues, you'll develop your professional and transferable skills. You’ll graduate ready for a career in international management You’ll have the flexibility to choose one of three options for the summer term:

  • explore an international management issue through an individual research project
  • work with one of our partner organisations to solve a real business challenge
  • do an internship to demonstrate your knowledge of international management

Building for the future Our School of Management building opened in June 2022. The latest technology gives you a flexible and modern learning environment. The design focuses on working together, with an open layout to enable effective teamwork. Our building encourages engagement with other students and academics. A dedicated Employment Hub provides a space for you to meet and network with our industry partners.

Timetabled contact hours, which can be made up of lectures, seminars, tutorials and laboratory classes, vary throughout your course and between courses but are typically between 10 and 16 hours a week during the taught semesters.  Additional briefing sessions will be provided to help you prepare for the dissertation/practice track period and as part of the co-curricular offering of live projects. (See below for the co-curricular offering.) You will receive direct guidance from an allocated member of academic staff for your dissertation/practice track activity.


Entry requirements

2:1 or above (or its international equivalent) undergraduate degree. Your degree can be in any discipline but it must include a significant level of business or management content. If you are a UK student and completed your undergraduate degree abroad, your qualification must be equivalent to a 2:1 or above. We may make an offer based on a lower grade if you can provide evidence of your suitability for the degree.

Tuition fees can be found on our web pages and are liable to increase annually. UK and Islands fees are regulated by the UK government and are subject to parliamentary approval.
