Modules

This course combines academic study with practice learning in a social work or care workplace setting. The structure of the programme is as follows:

  • Year One: Skills for Social Work Practice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Contexts for Social Work Practice, Theories and Interventions, and Professional Capabilities in Practice 1 (includes a 70-day practice placement).
  • Year Two: The focus will be on Decision-making in Social Work, Social Work Law and Policy for Practice, Understanding Research in Practice, and Professional Capabilities in Practice 2 (includes a 100-day practice placement).

Assessment method

Assignments include practice portfolios, an independent research project, practical demonstrations, presentations, and hi-fidelity simulations.
