Course summary

This course develops your knowledge and skills as a HRM practitioner, responsible for growing an agile and ethical workforce. You take the lead on managing the recruitment and development of employee talent within organisations, employing the right balance of staff in terms of skills and experience, and maximising employee and organisational performance. Effective human resource management is recognised by organisations as a key area in achieving business success. There is high demand for highly trained and skilled human resource professionals. Assessment method

An interactive workshop approach is used to develop understanding through lectures, individual and group activities, case studies and presentations. For part-time students modules are delivered on a one day per week basis supported by guided learning materials accessed through the University's virtual learning environment. Assessment methods vary according to the modules studied and include examinations, assignments and presentations.

Entry requirements

Applicants should normally have a good honours degree (2.2 or above) in a business-related or human resources related discipline, or a post-experience or professional qualification, or equivalent qualifications (including international qualifications). Applicants without a formal academic qualification but with appropriate work experience and professional training will also be considered. Non-UK students must also meet the University's minimum English language requirements.
