Taught by some of the most influential researchers in the field today. You’ll develop the skills, knowledge and expertise to produce excellent research-led work. This course looks at digital media within the contexts of media and cultural studies. We draw from across the disciplines of sociology, politics, philosophy, art and design, and informatics. You’ll gain experience of designing and developing digital media products. You’ll also learn about:

  • the history of digital media
  • the key concepts shaping current thinking about digital media
  • the intellectual debates in digital culture, digital humanities and computational media
  • digital methods for research and practice.

Entry requirements

You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above. Your qualification should be in a relevant subject such as art and design, computer design/science, cultural studies, interactive media, media studies, or social psychology. You can also apply for the course if you don’t have the academic qualifications required, but can show relevant professional/creative skills and experience.
