Course summary

Using both traditional and cutting-edge, immersive approaches to picture-making, this course provides you with critical, ethical and professional tools to express your identity and create new and better visions of the world. Through live and simulated assignments, you’ll be collaborating with dancers, film-makers, musicians, games designers and more. You’ll be learning from an award winning academic team who’s client lists include amongst others Vogue, i-D, Rolling Stone, GQ, Paul Smith, Levis and Swiss Army. Working together you will be creating, pitching and submitting work direct to Publishers, Art Directors, Art-Buyers and Designers, as well as entering International Competitions. During the three years you will experience every moment of the creative process, from inspiration to concept development and from pitch to production. You will learn how to control light in-camera, in the studio, on location and in post-production. You’ll capture beautiful images and create seductive experiences. You’ll work in stills, in film, in-game, online and more, you’ll define how the future of Fashion Photography will look and feel. Assessment Assessment is 100% through coursework. You will receive feedback throughout each module and will be awarded a grade.   • Work with industry-standard facilities, learning skills in traditional photographic methods, digital media and emerging technologies.
  • Work broadly across the subject, including art, documentary, editorial, advertising and critical writing.
  • Develop your professional skills through work experience placements, industry competitions, and collaborations with organisations.

  • Take part in the development and organisation of a photography festival in your final year, showcasing your work at venues across Nottingham, with further opportunities to exhibit at other graduating events.

Additional fee information

The UK Government recently announced an increase to the Home Undergraduate tuition fee from £9,250 (the 2024 entry fee) to £9,535 for 2025 entry. This is subject to Parliamentary approval and is therefore still to be confirmed. The current expectation is that the NTU tuition fee for 2025 entry will be £9,535.
