Course Overview Our MSc Midwifery for Registered Nurses is an intensive programme designed to develop your abilities as a professional midwife. We’ll enable you to gain the skills needed to ensure that women, birthing people and families get to enjoy a positive and healthy pregnancy and birth experience. Why study with us

What you'll do
  • You’ll be learning from leading experts. Our midwifery education team is supported by internationally renowned researchers in midwifery and infant nutrition.
  • You’ll go on clinical placements in NHS Trusts throughout the region, gaining hands-on experience in a range of settings on the frontline of the midwifery profession.
  • We have dedicated staff who provide a link between the University and our clinical placement sites. These lectures are available whenever you need advice and support.
Accreditations This course is validated by the NMC, the nursing and midwifery regulator for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Future careers Your midwifery qualifications and experience will offer a wide range of options to further develop your career. After completing the course you will become a registered midwife, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). You’ll then have the opportunity to apply to work as a midwife within the NHS or in other independent midwifery settings. You may also have opportunities to work nationally or internationally.
