Gain a solid grounding in biomedical disciplines on this innovative Bioengineering (Regenerative Medicine) BSc. You will explore the fundamentals of biological processes, gain interdisciplinary biomedical know-how, and develop key laboratory skills. Our course aims to prepare you for an exciting future in the research, discovery, and production of regenerative medicine, which is transforming global healthcare. Regenerative medicine is a rapidly growing area, and this course offers opportunities for you to work towards a career at the forefront of the bioengineering profession. You will study a combination of biochemical, molecular and cellular knowledge, and engineering principles. This provides you with the scientific expertise to enable you to design tissue engineered constructs that repair, replace and rejuvenate damaged or diseased tissue. You will investigate cells and the extracellular environments, tissue structure and function so you can explore the critical challenges of cell, tissue, and organ regeneration. From the start of the course, you will build a solid foundation in the principles of biomedical science. You will discover the fundamentals of stem cell biology, tissue engineering, immunoengineering, drug delivery and nanotechnology. The programme will introduce you to innovative approaches to patient treatment and diagnosis, considering genetic variations of patients, environment, and lifestyle.
