Course summary
At Birmingham, we've created the UK's first undergraduate programme that truly bridges the technological and governance divide. Our BSc in AI and Public Policy makes advanced technical learning accessible to everyone with GCSE-level mathematics, through carefully structured support. You'll develop a rare combination of computational skills and policy expertise through hands-on projects using real policy datasets. This distinctive balance prepares you for diverse careers where technology and public service intersect, with knowledge that traditional computer science or politics degrees simply cannot provide. Our BSc Artificial Intelligence and Public Policy course is a full-time, campus-based programme, delivering a carefully structured three-year curriculum (four with an optional Year Abroad or Placement Year), progressively building expertise from foundational principles to advanced applications at the intersection of AI and public policy.
