Sport and Exercise Psychology uses psychological method and theory to support individuals, teams, and coaches within sports performance and/or exercise in every day life. Researchers and practitioners in the field utilise a wide range of methods and paradigms in order to understand how people think, feel, communicate, and act and how this can impact on the performance or physical activity of the individual, team and/or coaches. Based on the foundations of Keele's existing suite of highly successful, accredited Psychology programmes, our BSc provides a systematic and scientific understanding of the core areas of psychology and research, as well as specialised knowledge in sport and exercise psychology. Taught by chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologists, you will learn about the psychology of sport and exercise from individual and group perspectives, how it can be used to improve performance, team-building and leadership, as well as engagement, participation, motivation and adherence in general physical activity and exercise.
