Our reputable digital film production course in London combines the main elements of film production, screenwriting and film industry knowledge. Taking a holistic and practical approach, you will explore the professional aspects of filmmaking and learn the core techniques of audio-visual storytelling through camera, lighting, sound and editing, along with production management, workflow and design. Student films emerge from screenwriting classes, and we explore the industrial and critical understanding of contemporary filmmaking, including popular mainstream, art-house, documentary, music videos, and corporate work. The course is underpinned by the film industry, with guest speakers and masterclasses bringing expert advice and networking from all parts of the sector. Taught through a blend of practice and applied learning, which includes lectures, workshops, seminars, pitching sessions and self-directed study, the BA (Hons) Digital Film Production degree is led by production and broadcast experts with excellent industry experience. With an emphasis on hands-on training, you will have access to high specification digital cameras, and the chance to hone your technical skillset on our sought-after cinematography module. Our high-end computer labs offer the latest digital applications to facilitate sophisticated post-production, editing and grading. In the final year major project, you can work collaboratively, applying the creative skills and critical theory you have developed on your undergraduate journey. Many of our final projects go on screen in festivals and become proof of concept for larger industry projects. With support throughout your degree to build showreels, portfolios and C.Vs, this course has a superb track record of employability for its graduates.

Assessment method

You will begin developing the core skills for careers in digital TV production, film, editing and post-production, music and sound design, broadcast engineering, or multi-platform content creation. The Integrated Foundation Year gives you time and support to explore your creative identity, build confidence, and prepare for studio-based, project-led learning.
