The BSc (Hons) Management with Economics places an emphasis on the wider social, historical and political context in which organisations operate, and how it shapes the circulation, and demand/supply, of goods and services. Why study BSc Management with Economics at Goldsmiths

Please note the BSc Management with Economics only accepts applications for first year entry.

Modules

Year 1 (credit level 4) In your first year, you'll take the following compulsory modules: Strategic Management Foundations of Economics 1: Theories Foundations of Economics 2: Business Applications Understanding Entrepreneurship Introduction to Marketing Finance and Accounting Identity, Agency & Environment 1 Identity, Agency & Environment 2 Year 2 (credit level 5) In your second year, you'll take the following compulsory modules, as well as one optional module from across the Institute of Management Studies. Mathematics for Economics and Business Economic Reasoning Market Research and Consumer Insight Developing an Employability Strategy The Goldsmiths Elective Year 3 (credit level 6) In your third year you will take the following compulsory modules: Leadership and Talent Management Organisational Behaviour Intermediate Microeconomics Intermediate Macroeconomics International Business Individual and Institutional Economic Behaviour You'll also take one of the following modules: Individual and Institutional Economic Behaviour Manias, Bubbles, Crises and Market Failure Gender, Race and Economic Relations Work Placement You can then choose to complete either a 30-credit Research Project or two optional 15-credit modules from across the Institute of Management Studies. This includes the option to undertake a Work Placement module. Work Placement module Completed in the summer between Year 2 and 3. Our Work Placement Module is your chance to dive into real-world industry experience, which not only helps you grow your network but also gives you a peek into the professional world. Please note that due to staff research commitments not all of these modules may be available every year.

Assessment method

You’ll be assessed by a variety of methods, depending on your module choices. These include coursework, examinations, group work and projects.
