Enter the world of mathematics and statistics with our Mathematical Sciences BSc. You’ll focus on applications ready for a career in business, industry or academia. From statistical analysis and mathematical modelling to systematic analysis, with our flexible programme you’ll develop a broad set of skills in a supportive, inclusive and fun community. Study with us and be inspired to develop your programming know-how, problem-solving, data analysis and important transferable skills like report writing and giving presentations. Immerse yourself in mathematics and statistics and we’ll open a world of opportunity in data science, financial services, medical statistics, quantitative analysis, software engineering and teaching. You’ll build a solid foundation with core mathematical and statistical skills. Guided by our expert mathematicians, you’ll discover how to apply your knowledge across business and science including using data analysis, problem solving and programming. Practise modelling real problems with industry partners from managing crowd movements at events and planning roadworks to efficient engine cooling systems and energy grid management. If you develop an interest in mathematical theory, you can choose to specialise with optional modules.
