Course summary
Computer science is being globally innovated in industries all around the world. From cybersecurity to driverless cars, advancements in computer science are changing the way we live. Study a degree that will develop your expert skills and knowledge to prepare you for a range of high-level careers. If you choose to take the artificial intelligence pathway you can graduate with a degree titled ‘MSc Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence)’. This pathway specialises in the field of artificial intelligence. You will study core modules and undertake a research project in AI. We offer a wide range of optional modules. This allows you to specialise in areas of computer science that you are particularly interested in. You can choose to tailor you to study in topics such as machine learning, autonomous robotics, big data or mixed reality. To help support our students, we offer an Excellence in Computer Science scholarship. There are three levels to the award which range from 10-50% off your tuition fees.
Modules
You will complete a 60-credit research project. This can be in any area you choose. You will be supported by our academic staff and research groups. If you do not have a strong background in computer science you will study core modules to teach you the fundamentals of computer science. If you choose to study the artificial intelligence pathway, you will study compulsory modules in the field of AI. All students will have a range of optional modules to choose from. This will allow you to study areas of computer science that you are personally interested in.
Entry requirements
2:1 (or international equivalent) with a background or interest for programming. Graduates from a science or engineering background will be considered with a 55% average mark.
