The Higher National Certificate is a university-level qualification (Level 4) with a strong vocational emphasis. It is a nationally recognised qualification that equips you with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to succeed in employment or the opportunity to progress to study at university. For people currently employed in a related field, an HNC provides the opportunity to upgrade knowledge and skills, combining work and study and may be a more cost-effective alternative to university study. This course is equivalent to the first year of a full time university-level programme. You will get to know all your teachers well and benefit from a supportive and friendly environment. Progression: Students may go onto a wide and varied range of Engineering career pathways. Also students may choose to progress onto a HND Engineering course, or to an appropriate Engineering Degree programme. The Higher National Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering has been developed to focus on equipping individuals with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to succeed in employment in the Aeronautical Engineering Industries.   • Unit 4004: Managing a Professional Engineering Project

  • Unit 4043: Airframe Mechanical Systems
  • Unit 4044: Composite Materials for Aerospace Applications
  • Unit 4045: Turbine Rotary Wing Mechanical and Flight Systems
There is a strong emphasis on analysis and evaluation of subject-specialist concepts and procedures. Learners will have the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attributes essential for successful performance in working life.
