Course summary
The BSc nursing programme has been designed to prepare the future nurse for working within today’s health and social care services. This course equips you with the skills and knowledge to understand and respond to often complex challenges experienced by individuals which can impact on thoughts, emotions and behaviours. You will learn how to work in partnership with individuals who experience long term health challenges to enable self-management and recovery. Mental health nurses work with individuals across the life-span with emphasis on supporting people to discover and realise their own potential. You will learn to use a strength-based approach while working with families, communities and individuals to promote resilience and support promotion of health and wellbeing and the prevention of ill-health.
