Course summary
Research undertaken at Master’s level explores aspects of knowledge at the forefront of an academic or professional discipline. You are expected to demonstrate originality in the application of knowledge, and to gain understanding of how the boundaries of knowledge are advanced through research. Assessment method
Assessment is based on a required portfolio of work and a critical report of 10,000 - 15,000 words
Entry requirements
To apply for a PhD, you should, as a minimum, hold a first or upper second class honours degree of a UK University (or equivalent from an overseas institution) or a qualification which is regarded as equivalent to an honours degree such as professional qualifications.This should normally be in a discipline that is appropriate to the proposed research.
