Course summary

Software engineering is currently one of the most in demand skills in the UK. This program is based on an innovative and dynamic curriculum, designed and delivered in collaboration with key employers. Students will cover a range of computing, programming, and software engineering concepts throughout the course. The course is vocationally based with lots of practical hands-on tuition and links to relevant local industry employers. There are also blended learning elements of the course. This course covers the fundamental aspects of programming and software engineering as well as software development industry practices. Students will be presented with new and challenging opportunities that will increase the level of expertise and technological knowhow. Alongside practical programming modules, you will also gain a wider understanding of key industry concepts, such as project management, software development practices and methodologies, data analytics, management and big data, computational thinking, systems architecture and software testing. On successful completion of this course, students will have both a theoretical and practical understanding of software engineering. The FdEng Software Engineering will prepare you for a career in the software development industry, the course has a mix of practical and vocational skills long with linking basic theoretical concepts to practice and is ideal for individuals who are embarking in this exciting field. Qualified teacher status (QTS)
