Course summary
This BA honours degree (top up) in music has a strong focus on students’ subject-specialisms as well as promotion and marketing of music products and services under the banner of a music production company run by the students. This will draw on previously developed skills in performing, devising, stagecraft, composing, arranging, improvisation, recording, and live sound. This is a focused and employment-targeted provision. During the course students will be deeply immersed in the industry structures and business processes that will be necessary to them as they develop their skills as independent freelance music practitioners. The course will enable our students to develop the creative, technical and employability skills essential for working in today’s highly diverse music industry. Our students will organise and take part in activities ranging from staging events, publishing original music, liaising and collaborating with a broad range of clients in a wide range of performance contexts throughout the year.
