Course summary

The BA Hons Education (STL) in partnership with the University of Huddersfield is delivered on a part-time basis, during an evening session over five hours, 1 evening/week (TBC). Teaching would be classroom-based and delivered face-to-face, through a series of lectures, seminars, tutorials and interactive workshops, over 34 weeks. The last three weeks of the programme will be a marking/assessment period. You will learn through a variety of teaching methods which will aim to meet the needs of each individual and accommodate different learning styles for example, case studies, assessments, group work, practical work, projects, extended writing and interactive activities. Throughout the course you will study 12 modules in total. These include: Theories and Strategies for Learning, Professional Practice, Perspectives on Learning and Development, Special Education Needs and Disability: introduction to policy and practice, Safeguarding Children and Young People, Advanced Professional Practice, Support for Language, Literacy and Mathematics in Educational Environments, Person Centred Approaches, Health & Well Being, Researching the Major Study, Critical Approaches to Inclusive Education & Major Study in Education in year 4

Assessment method

You will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods including academic posters & displays, reflective summaries, portfolios research proposals and research reports.

Qualification requirements

We also accept a minimum for IELTs is 6.0 overall with no elements lower than 5.5 for entry onto this course. RPL for current Level 4 holders will be considered in line with University of Huddersfield guidance. Other suitable experience to be considered in line with University of Huddersfield guidelines, e.g., for mature students. Further to the entry requirements, applicants must be in employment/voluntary work in an appropriate setting.
