Course summary

Our MBA in Tech Leadership degree is a general management degree with a focus on the fast paced and ever-changing technology industry. The overall objective of the MBA in Tech Leadership degree is to educate individuals as general managers in the tech industry and support the demand for skilled professionals as new technologies emerge and existing ones evolve. The MBA in Tech Leadership will assist participants to take on greater levels of responsibility in their current organisations and enable experienced managers to more easily move into technology related industries with greater confidence and knowledge. This MBA degree is available to study full-time on-campus, or online as a full-time course (1 year) or with Professional Practice Year (2 years) or part-time online (2 years). As well as an emphasis upon meeting industry developmental needs, you’ll learn how to be:

  • A business management professional, expert in the advanced study of organisations, their management and the changing context in which they operate, both nationally and internationally, as well as the unique challenges of tech industries.
  • A critically aware learner who can identify how to fast-track business opportunities in a corporate or entrepreneurial venture.
  • A confident manager and leader who can convert theory into practice from a detailed and informed perspective, to advance the effectiveness of an organisation.

Assessment method

You will be assessed formally through a mix of individual assignments, group work, project work and portfolios. In particular, as is expected for an MBA, this programme involves a significant amount of group work.

Entry requirements

In order to study this course you are required to have an Undergraduate degree with a minimum of a 2:2 or above or equivalent qualifications, plus 3 years of relevant professional/managerial experience, and successfully pass an interview that assesses suitability to the course. We also offer a non-standard route requiring a qualification at Level 6 or above combined with 5 years of relevant professional/managerial experience and two professional references. You will be required to pass the same interview as the standard route.
