Course summary
Getting the right message across to the right people is fundamental to business success. Join us for this intensive one-year master’smasters’ to hone your abilities and realise your creative potential as a marketing communications expert. The MSc Marketing Communications course equips you with the comprehensive skillset needed to create impactful campaigns, develop strategic communication plans and deliver commercial communications that resonate with diverse audiences across a wide variety of digital media channels. You’ll learn how to engage audiences through both written and visual media, building your skills across a variety of industry-standard media production and design software tools. Along with these specialist marketing communication skills, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the different primary functions of business and the ways they interrelate. On arrival you’ll complete a skills and aspirations audit, allowing you to identify learning gaps. The insights gained will inform your development path on the Career Catalyst module. This allows you to track your personal and professional growth throughout the course, build a relevant skillset and develop your personal unique selling point. When you graduate, you’ll be equipped to work in areas such as brand management, creative strategy, digital marketing, media planning and public relations.

Contemporary marketing practice; strategic marketing planning; principles of marketing communications; marketing analytics; research methods for marketing; digital marketing; corporate communications; dissertation research methods.
Assessment method
Assessment is through supervised mini-projects, presentations, time-constrained assignments and examinations.
Entry requirements
You will need: an honours degree of 2:2 or above in any subject. If you do not meet the above grade requirements but have at least 12 months relevant professional experience and/ or equivalent qualifications, we will consider you on an individual basis.
English language requirements
International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*). *The University accepts a large number of UK and international qualifications in place of IELTS.
