Music Production (including a Foundation Year) at University of Chester - UCAS

Course summary

Master the art of Music Production through the exploration of music technology (recording and live), composition, history and theory. Our course aims to give you a wide range of practical and transferable skills. You will learn how to become a versatile, intelligent and employable producer. Alongside recording, production and the study of popular music, students have the opportunity to engage with other music industry-related areas, such as live music technology, music theory, songwriting and composition. We have recently made a significant investment in our music production equipment, ensuring that our extensive facilities are equipped with the very latest technology to provide students with an outstanding learning experience. Being delivered from within the Department of Music, Media and Performance allows production students to work with music performance students as part of a close-knit, thriving, co-operative and creative music community. Chester has a strong local music scene with close ties to the Department, as well as being well located for access to bigger cities such as Manchester and Liverpool. Benefit from exceptional recording studios, iMac labs, skilled technical staff, and extensive equipment loan provision. Foundation Year courses have been designed for students who do not have the necessary academic qualifications needed to enter directly into the first year of a degree but who have the ability and commitment to do so. Once the Foundation Year has been completed successfully, you can then go on to complete your degree.
