Course summary

Get ready with a foundation year and learn the foundational skills and knowledge to complete a full Honours degree. You'll be able to embark on this qualification without meeting the level 3 entry requirements, giving you the opportunity to study at degree level through this four year course. Kickstart your career as a sports therapist with a BSc Sport Therapy and Rehabilitation degree from CCCU. What you’ll learn

  • Become an expert in BASRaT’s key competencies.
  • Get hands-on experience throughout the degree as you help people recover through rehab and therapy.
  • Support sports teams and individual athletes through our STaR Clinic to improve performance and stay injury-free.
  • Prepare for roles in sport, healthcare, private clinics, or the NHS.
What’s more, you’ll have the chance to get involved in major sporting events like the London Marathon, Canterbury and Whitstable Runs, and the Brighton Marathon. These events will give you invaluable experience, helping you develop your skills in real-world settings. Taking a person-centred, holistic approach, you'll become a well-rounded graduate who is able to critically think, collaborate, and reflect on your own practice. With these skills, you'll continue to evolve as a sports rehabilitator as you make informed, research-backed decisions. If you’re looking for an accredited and practical sports therapy degree that will set you up for employment upon graduation, then apply to study at CCCU. Location This course is run at our Canterbury Campus in Kent. Canterbury is just 50 miles south-east of London and less than an hour by high-speed train from St Pancras. Located on a UNESCO World Heritage Site the campus offers state-of-the-art buildings, right in the centre of a vibrant and world-famous cathedral city. You’ll benefit from a campus with excellent learning and teaching resources, music venues, a superb sports centre, a well-stocked bookshop and plenty of coffee bars and places to eat. A short walk away is Augustine House our award-winning library and home to a vast range of learning resources and student support teams.

A current satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required. Where you do not already have this you can apply for this check through the University. It is also a condition of registration that prospective students undertake an Occupation Health screen to ensure that they are fit to practice. This online health screen establishes your vaccination status and boosters may be offered if needed in readiness for any NHS placements.

Home (UK) Fees Home (UK) tuition fees for Foundation Years at Canterbury Christ Church University will be set in line with the maximum tuition fee cap for foundation years in classroom-based subjects or non-classroom-based subjects, as set by the UK Government. Home (UK) tuition fees for subsequent years 1-3 are currently set in line with the maximum tuition fee cap for standard undergraduate degrees set by the UK Government. The Government has announced that it will increase the tuition fee cap by 3.1%, in line with inflation, for the 2025/26 academic cycle. Subject to parliamentary approval, the University intends to increase our tuition fees in line with this and as per our terms and conditions. This means that from September 2025 onwards, our undergraduate home tuition fees for subsequent years of study are expected to be £9,535. International Tuition Fees (including EU fees Undergraduate tuition fees for International students are not subject to the Government’s regulations on maximum tuition fees. The University’s 2025/26 Overseas tuition fees for international students, and information about any mid-course increases, will be published on each course webpage.
