Course summary
The Higher National Certificate in Manufacturing Engineering lays the foundation of learning by providing a introduction to the engineering sector as well as a focused introduction to manufacturing engineering. You will develop a wide range of scientific and engineering knowledge linked to practical skills obtained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios.

Entry to this course requires a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Engineering and a minimum of 80 UCAS points. GCSE Mathematics and English at Grades A – C or equivalent. Or A minimum of 80 UCAS points including at least one Level 3 qualification in Maths, Physics or Computer Science. GCSE Mathematics and English at Grades A – C or equivalent. Or An Access to Higher Education Certificate in an Engineering discipline awarded by an approved further education institution. The School of Engineering welcomes applications from candidates who do not meet the above criteria, in this case applicants will be invited to an interview at which they will be expected to provide a portfolio demonstrating their suitability for entrance to the course.
