If you already have a relevant foundation degree or a similar level 5 qualification, our BA (Hons) Musical Theatre (top-up) programme is ideal. By working with our leading practitioners, you'll develop honours-level experience in acting, voice and dance, alongside a wide range of knowledge in devising and developing a production, audition and casting techniques. You'll study and train in purpose-built, high specification studios at Shockout's Manchester Studios. Our intensive final year BA (Hons) Musical Theatre (top-up) course offers you the opportunity to build on your existing performance-related foundation degree or HND. Delivered by Shockout, this course supports you in acquiring, developing, and refining the technical and artistic skills essential for your career as a professional musical theatre performer. We'll help you gain a clear contextual understanding of the wider industry to support your progression into employment and ensure a sustainable career. We want to foster your skills in creative entrepreneurship. During your top-up studies, you'll continue to explore the core techniques of acting, voice and dance. You'll also have regular performance opportunities to help you build a diverse range of technical performance skills and prepare you for the industry. This course is open to Home students only. Applications from International and EU students cannot usually be accepted because the study location for this course is not licenced by UKVI to sponsor students. Entry requirements
Qualification requirements
Normally, you should possess a relevant level HE5 qualification, such as a foundation degree or HND; for example, FdA Musical Theatre. Alternatively, you may have a relevant professional qualification at an equivalent level. If you don't have the above qualifications but possess equivalent qualifications or experience, we'll be happy to consider your application. In addition to attending an audition and interview, we may require you to provide a portfolio of work or complete another form of test so that we can assess your application.

You'll need to provide a satisfactory medical report signed by your GP to confirm you are fit and well to undertake full-time intensive and rigorous physical training.
