Course summary
Overview Supporting students in practice settings is important. As a practice supervisor or practice educator, you are responsible for ensuring that social work students who graduate as registered practitioners are competent for their role. By completing this short course, you will gain experience in supervising social work students, and meet stage 2 of the Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) for social work. You will develop the knowledge and skills needed to supervise a learner in a practice environment, and you will also reflect on your own practice, developing skills as a positive role model. Applicants must have 2 years post-qualifying practice experience and be registered with Social Work England. Applicants must have completed PEPs 1 or have supported and supervised at least 2 social work learners by the end of PEPs 2, one of which is at pre qualification level. Applicants must have the capacity to host a student for the duration of the course and be able to attend at least 80% of the course. All offers are subject to Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance.
