Course summary

Artificial Intelligence is transforming industries and driving some of the fastest-growing roles worldwide. The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 shows demand for AI expertise is rising more than three times faster than for other UK jobs – and this MSc Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence gives you the tools to succeed in high demand fields. You’ll study core areas of computer science including software engineering, databases, networks, cloud computing and information systems. Alongside these, you’ll focus on AI through modules in machine learning, deep learning, large language models and prompt engineering, while also exploring the ethics and safe adoption of new technologies, and complete a final research project in a topic that reflects your professional interests. Our 100% online master’s is designed to help you move with confidence into the next stage of your career in AI and computing, while balancing study around work and life. Study full-time over 14 months or flex to part-time with a clear weekly structure, supported by dedicated study and career guidance and materials created by experts with real industry experience.

Modules

Explore intelligent systems and the computing that powers them. You’ll design and evaluate models using machine learning and deep learning, work with natural language processing, and apply large language models with effective prompt design. You’ll handle the full AI lifecycle – preparing data, training and evaluating models, tackling bias, and ensuring safe, responsible use. You’ll build solutions with solid software engineering, design and query data with modern database systems, and understand how networks and cloud services support scalable AI This programme is designed to give you the skills needed to work across sectors being shaped, reshaped and disrupted by AI, from finance and health to media and the public sphere – with academic and careers support to help you turn learning into your next step. Assessment method

Assessments on this MSc are varied and designed to help you apply your learning using reports, project design, case studies, portfolios of work, and reflective pieces or presentations. You’ll also complete a final research project where you can explore a computing topic in depth, supported by academic guidance.

Entry requirements

This is a conversion master’s degree – designed for people who didn’t study computing at undergraduate level. To apply, you’ll need to meet the following entry requirements: A UK honours degree at 2:2 or above (or equivalent international qualification) in a subject other than computing. If you hold a non-honours degree and 2 years’ professional experience in one or more computing-related roles, you’re still encouraged to apply. We’ll review your academic and professional background on a case-by-case basis. In exceptional cases, applicants without a first degree but with more than two years’ relevant professional experience in computing-related roles may be considered.

We’re proud to offer MSc Computer Science degrees for just £7,680. That’s because it's built specifically for online delivery, using a structure that keeps things flexible, practical, and cost-effective. Many of our students cover the cost of their postgraduate degrees using a UK government Master’s Loan (if eligible), and when it comes to paying for your degree, there are 2 different ways – depending on what works best for you: 1. Pay in full upfront: You’ll receive a 15% fee reduction if you pay for your full degree in advance. This must be completed before your start date. 2. Pay per module: This option allows you to spread the cost across your studies, and the amount you’ll pay upfront depends on how you choose to study. Full-time students pay for the first two modules upfront. Part-time students pay for the first module upfront.
