This course will prepare you with the skills and knowledge for an exciting career within the international tourism industry. In the first year of the programme at Level 4, you will gain academic skills whilst also further developing your knowledge and understanding of the tourism industry. In the second year of the programme at Level 5, you will prepare for employment or further study. You will undertake a work experience unit which will give you a direct insight into the sector and help you to develop essential employability skills. This course will prepare you for a wide range of career opportunities and will allow you to explore the tourism industry in both a national and global context.
During the programme you will cover a range of topics. Level 4 - Academic Management skills for the Tourism Industry, Successful Management for Tourism, Management and Leadership for the Tourism Industry, International Supply and Demand, The Principles of the Global Tourism Industry. Level 5 - Tourism planning for the Future, Strategic Marketing, Work Experience in the Travel and Tourism Industry.
The course is assessed through a variety of methods including written assignments, portfolios, presentations and examinations.
