Course summary

If you would like to work in childcare, or if you’re employed and are keen to further your career, this course teaches the full range of skills for working with children and young people from birth to 18 years. It is the ideal route into professional childcare, teaching or other work with young people, and provides both classroom-based study and practical experience. With strong links to local employers, the course will enable you to develop knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by people working in the childcare sector and provides excellent opportunities for employment or further study. Students have access to a wide range of resources including textbooks, publications, and computers in the University’s library and via online resources. In most cases they are more than sufficient to complete a course of study.
