Course summary

The Certificate of Higher Education in Football Broadcast and Journalism will provide UA92 students with the opportunity to develop the skills and competencies required to excel in the multimedia industry of football broadcast and journalism. Students will explore content and hone suitable skills for a variety of behind-the-scenes production roles within the football broadcast industry, alongside public facing career roles, including football presenting, reporting, commentary and punditry. They will also learn how to create a range of football related multimedia content for social media, podcast, radio and television platforms. The curriculum will see learners work collaboratively with UA92 sporting and business partners to gain industry experiences, engage with the thriving football community, and play an active role in the expanding coverage of the female game, in line with UA92 values of equity and representation.

The 92 Programme will equip students with skills in self-reflection and awareness, wellness and resilience, professionalism and employability, and practical upskilling within a chosen field. The delivery of The 92 Programme will equip students with the skills to deepen their personal learning and development through reflection on experience in the following focus areas: - Mindset – Attitude, personal values, personal strengths, overcoming self-limiting beliefs, resilience - Skillset – Development of practical skills relevant to career and life ambitions - Get Set – Development of professional behaviours and employability skills This approach will be a thread that runs through the holistic student experience at UA92, with The 92 Programme fully integrated with students’ academic study. The specific delivery plan will be subject to regular updates based on the evolution of degree programmes and maintaining relevance with industry.

Assessment method

Assessment methods include: reflective reports, presentations, multimedia reporting, written assessments, portfolio, pitches and proposals. Assessment Methods (Free Text Box) While engaging with this degree you will gain theoretical understanding of the topics you are exploring, you will also have opportunities to learn, develop and demonstrate a wide range of practical and applied skills and competencies. Therefore, University Academy 92 (UA92) will incorporate practical and competency based assessment of the attainment of the module and programme intended learning outcomes, where that is appropriate. Assessments will include individual and group work which is undertaken and submitted, in a range of relevant formats, as coursework in-module. These will include reflective reports, presentations, multimedia reporting, written assessments, portfolio, pitches and proposals.

Qualified teacher status (QTS)

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
