Throughout this MA course you’ll understand how changing practice in theatre and related live and digital events is making the industry more sustainable, global and inclusive. Our MA in Creative Theatre Technologies is designed in partnership with industry employers for anyone with an interest in developing their career as a designer or technician in the events and entertainment industries, taking advantage of fast-paced changes in industry practices to develop knowledge and skills that are in high demand for employers. You are able to choose from a range of specialist areas, including lighting & sound design and programming, scenic design and engineering, video design & digital visualisation, production management and many more; and collaborate with peers working in other disciplines to create innovative and original work. As part of your study, you’ll also have the opportunity to undertake a work placement and/or industry focused project. Integrate distance-learning into your own creative practice, including full access to industry standard software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Vectorworks, Logic Pro and many more included in your fees.

Entry requirements
Applicants should hold an honours-level undergraduate degree in a relevant arts, humanities or technology-based subject. We also welcome applicants with equivalent professional experience who may not hold a prior qualification. Applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in Creative Theatre Technologies and preparedness for masters-level study. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and, due to the distance-learning format of the programme, we strongly encourage applicants based in countries outside of the UK as well as applicants (in or outside the UK) with established professional practice who would benefit from the flexibility that this degree offers.
