Our BSc Health and Social Care and Management has been designed to bring together the very best of this interdisciplinary area as well as providing you with a solid grounding in management skills. It is ideal if you are interested in management and leadership within the healthcare sector. Why choose this course?

  • It offers you skills and knowledge relevant to a wide range of careers in the public, voluntary and private sectors and supports you to make progress towards, or in, a managerial role.
  • It provides you with training in key management and business concepts, grounded in the day-to-day reality of working in different types of organisations.
  • You will be taught by academics who are actively researching key issues in health and social care bringing their insight and experience to your learning.
How you will learn Health and social care are fast-growing areas of employment and academic investigation. This course will equip you with a strong foundation in:

This course is also run in collaboration with our Business School to offer you specific modules in accounting and management studies, so you gain the skills that are in demand by employers. How you will learn The course is mainly taught in small-group workshops, seminars and tutorials, and is supported by rich online materials and resources you can access whenever you need. You can choose classes taking place in the daytime or evening for most compulsory modules on this course. Some option modules may only be offered in the evening. Foundation Year If you opt for the Foundation Year route, this will fully prepare you for undergraduate study. It is ideal if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied the relevant subjects, or if you didn't achieve the grades you need for a place on your chosen undergraduate degree Highlights

Assessment method

You will be assessed through group work, writing for policy makers and oral presentations as well as more traditional academic essays or reports. You will also have the opportunity to carry out a substantial piece of independent work on a health and social care topic of your choice.

International applicants

If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests. We also accept other English language tests.

Tuition fees

International £18500 Year 1

Tuition fee status depends on a number of criteria and varies according to where in the UK you will study. For further guidance on the criteria for home or overseas tuition fees, please refer to the UKCISA website .

Additional fee information

The 2025-26 home fees were Year 1: £5,760 and Year 2+: £9,535. These fees may be subject to inflationary increases in 2026-27, depending upon UK government announcements on the tuition fee loan cap. The 2026-27 international fees are Year 1-4: £18,500. Students are charged a tuition fee in each year of their course. Tuition fees for students continuing on their course in following years may be subject to annual inflationary increases.
