Course summary

Students study Arabic and Middle Eastern studies; students undertake original research under the supervision of 1 or more academic staff; students undertake research training.

Assessment method

These include a thesis; for PhD 300 pages or 100,000 words; for MPhil 200 pages or 60,000 words; MA(Res) 100 pages or 30,000 words which is examined by viva at the end of their period of study.


Entry requirements

For Master's a BA 2.1 or equivalent; for PhD applicants must hold or be studying for an MA or equivalent. English language requirement is IELTS 6.5 overall with not less than 6.0 in any component.
