Course summary

Our MSc Environmental Science for Sustainability programme provides advanced-level training for understanding and applying principles of environmental science to sustainability challenges. You will be taught theory needed to understand the impact of environmental processes and change on ecosystem health, biodiversity and sustainability, across different realms of the environment: terrestrial, hydrological, ecological and atmospheric. You will be equipped with an extensive and comprehensive tool kit of advanced practical research and analytical skills that can be readily applied to environmental problems and sustainability challenges, and to assist you in your working life. Additionally, the programme provides you with an understanding of the scientific evidence needed for policy makers, private sectors and society to support sustainability. Key Benefits

Entry requirements

A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above. If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip). 2:1 degree with preference given to geography, natural sciences (such as environmental science, physics, chemistry and biology) and engineering subjects. Candidates who do not achieve a 2:1 but have professional or voluntary experience will also be considered. The Admissions Office will process these applications with support from the Admissions Tutor. In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme.
