This HTQ (Higher Technical Qualification) is a widely recognised and highly valued computing qualification that enables you to develop a range of higher level specialist technical skills and knowledge, enabling students to meet the demands of employers in the computing sector and to adapt to a constantly changing world. This programme is a specialist pathway, designed to support progression into the fields of software development and testing. The course will enhance your ability to develop sophisticated applications to change tomorrow’s world, and as a software tester to be involved in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment. Students will benefit from our excellent cutting-edge computing facilities, small student groups and extremely supportive, industry-experienced teaching staff. By completing this course, students will achieve an industry-recognised HND, which will enhance career prospects and your employability. To complement your course you will:

  • Hear from a range of guest speakers from the computing sector
  • Attend a relevant trip
It may be possible to gain additional vendor qualifications for example Cisco and CompTIA. On successful completion of this course, you can apply to study an additional year at Bedford College to gain a full BSc (Hons) degree, progress to a university, or you can enter employment.
