Course summary
Our MSc in Financial Technology (Fintech) brings together the current knowledge and skills of Fintech industry professionals as well as academics to provide a comprehensive programme with cutting edge and latest technologies. The programme takes an integrated approach to keep you well-informed in the fields of both finance and technology in a transdisciplinary fashion. The individual modules focus on answering the technical questions of what technological capabilities could achieve within the field of finance, acknowledging the robustness and speed at which these technologies evolve. You will have an opportunity to visit Canary Wharf in East London, the financial hub of the world, to interact with financial technologist to witness the rapidity at which financial technologies are evolving. You will also be able tour the London Stock Exchange (LSE) to develop further understanding on how financial engineering impacted the financial markets. One of the important visits would be to the Bank of England (BOE), wherein you will be able to interact with BOE staff to understand the role financial regulations (Regtech) play in the fast-paced Fintech industry. Entry requirements
- At least a 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject - we will consider a comparable professional or postgraduate qualification. - Students coming from a Finance or Technology background might be exempted from certain modules; however this will be considered on an individual basis. - International entry requirements - please refer to the in-country webpage and English language policy
English language requirements
International students will need to produce evidence of an acceptable score on an approved English language test such as IELTS. We run pre-sessional English language courses to help you prepare for undergraduate or postgraduate study.
