Earn a master's in cyber security and digital forensics and gain in-demand skills to analyse devices and protect businesses from attacks. Find out more Enhance your expertise Your final year of study will empower you to specialise in advanced digital forensics, including image and video forensic investigations. In the realm of cyber security, you’ll delve into software security exploitation development alongside the analysis and implementation of security mechanisms to protect and assess systems. This year will also enhance your understanding of research methodologies through a research or practical dissertation project. Access to specialist software You’ll acquire skills in digital forensic techniques and analysis using industry-standard tools like Encase and Cellebrite, as well as open-source alternatives such as Autopsy and FTK Imager. Joining the university’s Ethical Hacking Society will enable you to explore the latest trends in digital security, providing you with opportunities to attend lectures from industry experts that complement your learning. Connect with Industry Professionals You’ll gain experience in preparing and presenting work for use by courts of law and industry customers. Participating in conferences will enable you to network with professionals, enhancing your career opportunities. You might also have the chance to work with local employers as clients on your dissertation project. Cybercrime and Security Innovation Centre As part of our Cybercrime and Security Innovation Centre, teaching staff work with West Yorkshire Police to develop new ways of fighting cybercrime. This collaboration grants you access to pioneering research and valuable industry connections, offering essential insights into the real-world applications of computer security, including cyber security courses in the UK. Placement opportunities We work with various organisations to find placement opportunities for you. Our connections with the security and forensics industries, as well as legal contacts, provide you with avenues to enrich your educational experience. Study choices You can opt study one of our cyber security university courses with our three-year BSc (Hons) Cyber Security & Digital Forensics, completing the same modules as the first three years of this master’s-level program.
