Course summary

Our MSc Event and Tourism Management course is established upon a firm foundation of research-led teaching, innovative and blended learning methods, expertise-driven insights, as well as a clear commitment to guiding and supporting student and employability development at the postgraduate level. The course has been carefully designed with the input of a variety of organisations from the tourism and events industry and provides you with the opportunity to gain both comprehensive conceptual knowledge and an indispensable practical understanding of the key subject areas

Assessment method

Your assessments include essays, reports, presentations and pitches to industry. You’ll do digital assessments, critical reviews and reflective writing, both groupwork and individual work. Your dissertation covers a literature review, a methodology, analysis and the presentation of findings, providing an excellent foundation for researching and writing strategies in today’s hospitality industry.


Entry requirements

Our standard offer for accepting students onto this programme is a good honours degree. Applicants from a range of undergraduate subjects will be considered. This is in addition to a brief personal statement outlining interest and areas of specialism being considered, as well as a complete CV. The University has a well-established Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) and Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) structure in operation. Students without previous qualifications may be accepted as part of this process.

The fees above are for the 2025/26 academic year but may be subject to change following any announcements by the UK Government (approved by Parliament) regarding maximum Undergraduate tuition fee caps for 2025/26. In addition, the University reserves the right to increase all full-time and part-time Undergraduate tuition fees mid-course, in line with any further inflationary increase in the Government tuition fee cap which is approved by Parliament. The University will publish information about any changes to tuition fees on its website. International Tuition Fees (including EU fees): To be confirmed Undergraduate tuition fees for International students are not subject to the Government’s regulations on maximum tuition fees.
