Course summary
The MA Filmmaking course equips you with both practical and theoretical knowledge essential for the film industry. You’ll gain hands-on experience in screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and editing, which are crucial for creating a professional portfolio. This approach ensures that you graduate job-ready, meeting industry demands. You will:
- Work in our Creative Industries Building, which we share with BBC Wales
- Use state-of-the-art facilities, such as our TV Studio with a Green Screen, Podcasting Studios, and Recording/ Production Studios
- Have access to modern cameras and audio recording equipment
- Benefit from our partnership with Avid and Blackmagic (DaVinci Resolve), offering access to related short courses at no extra cost
- Learn from academics with industry experience, who are currently active scholars or researchers. This affords the opportunity to learn from staff who have first-hand experience of the Creative Industries.
