Course summary

Birmingham Newman University offers an innovative foundation year to complement our undergraduate degrees. Our Foundation Year is the first year of a four-year degree. Successful completion of the foundation year leads into the first year of the 3 year degree in Theology and Philosophy. The foundation year provides an alternative route to an undergraduate degree for those unable to meet the traditional entry requirements for a three-year degree and for those looking to build their confidence and academic skills. BA (Hons) Theology and Philosophy Our degree programme offers you the opportunity to study key aspects of the broad subject area of Theology and Philosophy, including Christian theology, bothclassical and modern; the philosophy of religion; ethics; and the ways in which different religious traditions interact with society and politics. Throughout the course you will be encouraged to relate your academic study to the world of work and to debate important current issues such as artificial intelligence, climate change and human rights.
