Course summary

Embracing the traditions of craftsmanship, our BA (Hons) Ceramics & Glass course at UCA Farnham combines a forward-thinking attitude to designing and making. Learning through making is key on this course, and using our incredible specialist facilities, you will be introduced to a range of processes common to both ceramics and glass, including mould-making, print and other surface techniques. Specialist areas such hand building, throwing, slip-casting, 3D ceramic printing, glass blowing, kiln-forming and lamp working are also covered. Overall, the course prepares you for creative professional life promoting a culture of creativity, innovation, and competitiveness, with employability embedded from the start and competitions, live projects and placements providing insights into the world of work and meeting the demands of industry. And where better to study these amazing crafts than on our Farnham campus. Awarded World Craft Town status in 2020, Farnham has enjoyed a long-established crafts heritage. If you need a Tier 4 student visa to study in the UK, you will need to take an IELTS test, and achieve an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum score of 5.5 for each element (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing).
