Course Overview Do you want to create characters and environments for animation, games, comics, or products? This four-year degree with an integrated foundation year gives you the time and support to develop your portfolio, build essential skills, and prepare for success in the fast-growing creative industries. Taught in a studio-style environment, you’ll learn drawing and image-making, explore 3D modelling and digital tools, and develop concepts and visuals for characters and worlds. Through an exploration of drawing, anatomy, working with narrative, 3D modelling and using modern digital image-making tools, you will gain a deep understanding of how to create authentic characters and visual concepts Key areas of study You'll explore and apply your skills across a range of illustrative applications including: drawing and image-making fundamentals, understanding and interpreting narrative informed by research, using digital image-making tools and 3D modelling to bring characters and environments to life.

Modules

Year 1 (Integrated Foundation Year) Year 1 will introduce you to the fundamental principles of design and creative problem-solving. This foundation year gives you the time, space and support to explore your creative identity, build confidence and prepare for the demands of studio-based, project-led learning. Modules are as follows: Module 1 Diagnostic exploration: making informed choices Module 2 Technical: Technical knowledge in practice Module 3 Specialist: Innovating specialist practice Module 4 Integration: Integrated practice for progression to Higher Education
