Course summary
INTRODUCTION Welcome to BA (Hons) International Esports Business & Digital Media at the College of Esports. In this course you shall develop a sound understanding of media theory and creation practices, and how they are implemented and developed in the fast-paced esports industry. You will take lessons in marketing strategy and apply them to the focused area of media production, to help shape and narrativise the message being shown to the consumer. Teaching modules are bolstered by the unique CoEs TRI-Curriculum approach, which enhances your social capital through the development of your talent, resilience, and identity in preparation for the exciting and international world of Esports. WHY STUDY THIS COURSE? At Level 4, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of social media strategy, digital content creation, and live broadcasting. You’ll start to explore how different regions approach esports media, how the internet has revolutionised audience engagement, content distribution, and branding in such a vast yet surprisingly transparent space. In Level 5, you will build on this foundation by applying your knowledge to business event strategy and brand marketing, focusing on audience engagement, and live production techniques. You will also develop narrativization techniques for content, to showcase business as a social enterprise and through this how to best connect with the consumer through your media assets. At Level 6, the course shifts towards the psychology of design and its use in monetization strategies. We then explore crisis management and the integration of digital media, to see how businesses in the esports sector might differ from traditional ones due to the nature of the sector. You will explore how the fast-paced nature of esports requires agile content, adaptable social media management, and dynamic broadcasting approaches to meet Media Law. This will prepare you to thrive in both esports and the broader digital media landscape, equipping you with the skills needed to create, implement, and deploy monetizable content in a competitive global market. THE AIMS OF THIS COURSE:
