Course summary
Our Primary Education BA (Hons) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) course combines flexible online learning with in-school initial teacher training, offering access across to university-led education grounded in classroom experience. This tuition-fee funded degree supports you to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while on placements in primary schools in England, learning alongside experienced school-based mentors.

Modules
Year 1 Alongside your Introductory Placement practical module, you will complete four 30-credit learning modules per year:
- An introduction to professional behaviours
- An introduction to SEND and behaviour
- An introduction to subject knowledge: core subjects
- An introduction to teaching and learning
- Developing your subject knowledge
- Becoming a research informed practitioner
- Developing your understanding of teaching and learning
- Developing your understanding SEND and behaviour

- Enhancing your understanding of teaching and learning

- Enhancing your understanding of SEND and behaviour
Assessment method
This course will be assessed using a variety of methods which will vary depending upon the module. Assessment methods may include:

Qualified teacher status (QTS)
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:

English language requirements
If English is not your first language, you will need to hold an academic IELTS less than three years old, with a score of at least 7 overall with no component less than 6.5, or TOEFL 600. If your qualifications were gained outside the UK, an official comparability statement for non-UK qualifications assessed by UK ENIC must be provided.
