Course summary

Study a modern language, and examine business challenges in a global context, with our BA Modern Languages and Business degree. This highly flexible degree enables you to study a modern language – choosing from our core languages of French, German, Italian and Spanish – alongside your studies in business. Taught by experts from the Department of Languages and Cultures and Henley Business School, you’ll acquire transferable skills with an international focus. In the latest National Student Survey, 98% of our students said teaching staff are good at explaining things (National Student Survey 2024, 97.87% of responders from the Department of Languages and Cultures). Throughout, you'll be encouraged to follow your interests as they develop and tailor your learning to your career goals. In your third year, you will go abroad to enhance your language learning and undertake a placement at the same time. English language requirements

Additional fee information

New UK/Republic of Ireland students: The University of Reading will charge undergraduate home tuition fees at the upper limit as set by the UK government for the relevant academic year. The fee cap for 2026/27 hasn't been confirmed yet. The annual fee for 2025/26 is £9,535. New international students: £25,850 for 2026/27. The International tuition fee is subject to annual increases changes in subsequent years of study as set out in your student contract.
