Course summary

BEng(Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering has been developed with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and major partner employers. It fulfils the educational requirements you need to meet to register as a Chartered Engineer (CEng), when presented with an accredited MSc. The course also meets the educational requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). Learn the skills and knowledge you need for a successful career in this sector. Study digital and analogue electronics, mathematics and computer programming. Explore the application of electronics in a range of environments and examine signal processing, micro-controllers, communications, control systems and digital hardware design. Develop professional skills in project planning, group work and communication. Apply knowledge through practical projects in our well-equipped facilities. Gain an inside track on the industry through factory tours and professional briefings from leading organisations. Attend careers fairs and engineer 'speed dating' events to help you find work as soon as you graduate. Choose a career designing electrical and electronic systems, working on consumer technology or solving engineering problems for communications and power generation/distribution companies. You could also work in technology, manufacturing, transport and rail, aviation and a host of other industries.
