Course summary
*Develop the key skills in epidemiology, incident management and leadership, to respond appropriately to emerging and ongoing global public health issues. * You’ll explore the socio-cultural perspectives of global public health phenomena and should develop key skills in epidemiology and incident management. The course:
- offers you a chance to gain a substantive knowledge of key public health perspectives and scenarios
- engages you with key public health principles, interpreting evidence and undertaking a nuanced reading of complex global public health situations
- covers key topics such as epidemiology, incident management, medical anthropology, policy and leadership, policy and legislation.
- Career opportunities: you can expect to graduate with the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of a leader in global public health allowing excellent potential for career progression in a range of national and internationally focused roles. These may include roles in local authorities, NHS trusts, non-government organisations (NGOs), third or private sectors, and academia.

Entry requirements
Students will need a minimum of a 2:2 or higher in a social science related undergraduate degree with an interest in public health or an equivalent appropriate qualification that includes substantial public health content.
